Honjou Academy Re-Opening - FIRST DAY!

So you've arrived at Honjou Academy.

There's a lot to see, and a lot to do. Getting into the school, checking out the dorms, exploring the huge school which involves an enormous ballroom, gym, outdoor facilities, beachfront property and even a ballet room and swimming pool.

There's tons to do, people to meet, teachers to greet, and this evening there's a official welcome from the Principal of the School, Principal Hisagi who has run this school for many a year now.

Please, enjoy yourself in your new school life. And if you're one of the folks who lives in town and are coming to greet the students, or perhaps one of the teachers, come and visit and say hello to your students, as you welcome them to the school.

Please feel free to come and go as you please, this is a welcoming new place under the shade of the early spring trees blooming this year.

Nozomi was in awe. How could Risa know so much of her though they just met? It was both worrisome and amazing.

“I’m Nozomi - I’m not a part of those groups, but... well, I’ve held a lot of heroic titles...!” She isn’t sure if she should reveal them, especially with how Risa’s acting.

Though, maybe she just needs a friend...?

"Risa is very perceptive, especially when it comes to people," said Risa, tilting her head as she leaned back a little with a little smile, a little less crazy, more gentle and mysterious and yet less unnerving. "Those Photons of yours never tell a lie after all."

"You must be very weary after all that you've been through after all!"

“Honestly, yes I am. I’m trying to get away from it all and have a break, but, it seems others might need me.” Nozomi said.

Her own head tilted, a small smile on her face. “You are so interesting. I don’t know why, but...”

"You're an old soldier, it's tough isn't it?" Risa giggled a little, swaying as she circled around Nozomi, head tilted. "It's fun though? Fighting the baddies, saving the day? I can see why people enjoy it. I hate the Falspawn and I hate people. But I like some people, and I think I find you a lot more interesting than these normal people."

She smiled, even though there was a weird sort of menace to it. "Who knows? One of these days I might get to actually shoot you! But no hard feelings after all! You don't seem like you carry an ounce of Falspawn in you, which is very very good indeed."

"H-Hey, you don't have to shoot me! Honest! I'm in no way any threat to you!" Nozomi said. "Though, why don't you stick around with me? If anything, I'm sure you might enjoy something and learn to handle things better!"

Risa was such a curiosity that Nozomi had to keep her around.

Risa giggled in her own unsteady manner. "Oh what's a little friendly fire between comrades hmm? Hmmm?! But if you want, we could do it the old fashioned way after all."

Leaning back, she giggled again. "But you know, times of peace are so alien to Risa, Risa thinks it would be fun to attend school. Stuffy old Casra wanted me to examine this place, and what better way to blend in than to attend a school?"

“Investigating the school, huh?” Nozomi said. “Sounds like something might happen, huh?”

"Oh of course it will." At that, a rifle materialized and she pointed it -- right at Nozomi -- and then a little over her shoulder as she fired as a literal zombie with blue skin was shot out of existence in a flurry of digital energy. "Phantasms materialize even here. How wonderful! Even here, they're appearing! I should have so so much fun!"

She giggled a little as the weapon vanished. "How delightful this is, that this wonderful Aether is still swimming in this world unchecked and free floating that it can even drag itself out of the Enclosed Spaces we put up to keep them inside them."

There was a gasp as Risa pointed her gun at Nozomi, her hand quickly diving into her hand to try and grab her CureMo, but the fact that it moved and shot at a zombie behind her stopped her confused her.

“...who are you...?” She uttered.

"Little old me? I'm a very very observant lady of course! I just move my eyes and I shoot when I see movement, and I know that movement is hostile by the way the form is moving." said Risa, smiling. "People and ARKS are so reliant on Photon tracking, they're not used to training their bodies."

"That was a Phantom, a creature made from the terror and insecurities of humanity. It's really scary, and made manifest from Aether. I've shot at least a dozen on the way here before stepping out of the concealed space."

“What?!” Nozomi yelped in shock. There were that many and she missed them?! Maybe she was out of focus for too long...!

"Apparently they don't manifest in these numbers for suuuuch a long time that people don't notice until they start manifesting in the real world! What a shame! Apparently people are just too comfortable until it's too late. That's why ARKS is here after all, to help you all." said Risa casually. "You should be more careful, sometimes weird things happen after all."

Nozomi squeezed the CureMo in her pocket as she calmed down. “Maybe I should...”

It took her a moment to notice a Phantom behind Risa, leading her to step aside and lunge at it and fiddling with her device.

She was able to punch it, but the awkward button pushes meant she was half Nozomi, half Cure Dream.

“Okay, coulda gone better...!”

Risa didn't even flinch, but she raised her weapon and fired, blasting a third and smiled as it dissipated, the gun from its hand dropping into particles. "You've got reflexes, I think we could do better. Risa thinks you should probably relax though, that should be the last of them for now. The stragglers should probably be thinned out by the time the Guardian gets here."

"They're naughty things which crumble so so quickly, but they make such a nice popping noise! What a wonderful state you make, so flustered!"

Nozomi laughed bashfully as she tried to adjust her form to get her in one or the other. “I usually do better when I’m not flustered.”

Though, she wasn’t sure if Risa was complimenting her, teasing her or hitting on her. She was an odd person to see.

“At least I’m not naked?”

"Nudity isn't a problem for Risa, Risa is a CAST, so it's not like I can't just replace parts anyhow! But it's very interesting that you can replace your equipment on the fly." replied Risa, seemingly unconcerned with the whole situation.

“A CAST? Huh. You have a type. Not just ‘robot’ or ‘machine’!” Nozomi said. “Ah, since you saw it, then I guess I don’t think it would hurt to tell you - I’m a Pretty Cure. A kind of magical girl. We use purification-type magic to help people!”

"CAST is a race! A forced evolution of people who are too strong for their own good, so we had to be rebuilt into new bodies." replied Risa, tilting her head. "Risa has been a CAST for a very very long time. Teehehehehehehehe!"

"Oh? So your Photons help people. Mmm, that's not it, it's more like the magic of your Aether collectively creates life. How interesting!"

"Now, that doesn't sound right! I don't care how powerful you are, you can't force others to change unless there's a good reason!" Nozomi said, shocked and upset over what Risa said. Though, her comment about her powers...

"Aether, huh?" she mused. "I always considered it just 'magic'!"

"Hahahah! HahahahaHAhAhAhAhAHAHHAaH!" laughed Risa, in a non-too steady manner like it was one big cosmic joke. "The birth of the CAST was one big grand science experiment, and Risa was the result! Oh me oh my, what a wonderful terrible horrible memory that was. Long, long ago, Risa was a frail girl, with incredible powers. But Risa couldn't handle the power, it was too too much. So Risa was torn apart, and rebuilt into the very first CAST. Nowadays, those who become CAST have a choice. Most of the time."

That hanging, "Most" was a dangerous note however but she smiled. "Aether is Photons and Photons are Imagination and Magic is Magic! It's imagination and all those gooshy things inside."

Nozomi blunk in shock at Risa's unhinging and revelation of her story. She isn't sure if she should pity her or start watching her back! Mostly pitying, because how terrible that moment was.

She put that aside with the next bit, though. "So, all of those are pretty much the same, huh?" she uttered. "That... makes sense."

"Yes, yes, it is. You just need to learn how to use your eyes first before you use your power first, that's all." said Risa, bobbing her head back with a amused smile like nothing ever happened.
